My Art

Ever since I was a little girl I have loved arts and crafts. Anything I could create I loved. I use to watch my Grandma Frankie Goff paint all the time. She use to drive out to the middle of nowhere, pull her little easel out and paint. She loved painting wild flowers, animals, the mountains, and pastures with cows and horses. I looked forward to going with her, just so I could watch her paint. She use to paint with mostly oils, and acrylics, sometimes she would paint with water colors too. She also use to paint black and white photographs with ink dye as well. I like to think that she was my inspiration for the art that I love so much today. I love to paint abstracts, mostly because they are colorful, and interesting, and I can use my imagination to paint them how I want, and they are easier than landscapes.

Today I decided to do some painting. Art is good for your soul. Everyone can be an artist. Many people tell me that they don't have a creative bone in their body. I believe everyone can be creative, if they try. The abstracts I painted today, were simply painted on black foam board I bought from the dollar store. Canvas is so expensive, but I bought the black foam board for a dollar a piece. I figured I would try it out and see how it worked out! My results were awesome, and cheap to boot!  The paints I used are simply the craft paints from Wal-Mart, and they are only 98 cents a piece. If anyone tries this project, please send me some paintings to post!  I used a spray bottle with vinegar, and then I dabbed lots of paint in the running water / vinegar, for some reason the vinegar splits the paint, and makes it look interesting. You can tilt your board so the paint will flow in several directions. Its fun and easy, and awesome results are easy to get. Here are some of the ones I painted today! They take time to dry, but the foam board worked well, and they were only a dollar a piece for the poster sized foam board.
