Nature Inspires Me......

Daffodils from Thanksgiving Point

The beauty of nature is so inspiring to me. I have to say, one of my favorite things to do is to hike through the mountains and gaze at all the beauty that God has given us to enjoy. My parents were both teachers as I grew up, and they had their summers off. We didn't have a lot of money but my fondest memories were not of the expensive places they took us but of the beautiful places we would go as a family. We went camping all the time. To several different lakes in the Cortez, Colorado area. We would hike, and collect pretty things of nature such as pine cones, wild flowers, rocks and even drift wood. At night we would build a camp fire, and my dad would take his guitar out and we would sing by the campfire, as he heated up his can of Dr. Pepper by the fire.  We got to have hot cocoa, but my dad liked hot Dr. Pepper. My parents always showed us they loved us by all the time they spent with us. I am so blessed to have the parents I have, they are very humble people.

I have added a few Photos I took of some of my favorite spots. Its truly amazing at how colorful and beautiful everything around us is. We really need to stop, and take the time to really look at the world in all its beauty. The photos include Yellow Stone National Park where my family traveled a couple of years ago. And the water fall pictures are from a little place in Pleasant Grove Utah, called Kiwanis Park! I love to take pictures everywhere I go. It helps me remember just how truly blessed we are.

Yellow Stone National Park

A couple of years ago we traveled to Yellow Stone. I was truly amazed at just how colorful and beautiful that place is. The mystic pastures with steam coming through the ground, and the colorful hot pots made me feel like I was in a completely different world. I even got some good shots of the buffalo that roam there. We didn't get to see any bears, but the buffalo were amazing, and the kids really enjoyed them. I think it was mating season, because all the buffalo were pairing up.
