Nature Inspires Me......

Daffodils from Thanksgiving Point

The beauty of nature is so inspiring to me. I have to say, one of my favorite things to do is to hike through the mountains and gaze at all the beauty that God has given us to enjoy. My parents were both teachers as I grew up, and they had their summers off. We didn't have a lot of money but my fondest memories were not of the expensive places they took us but of the beautiful places we would go as a family. We went camping all the time. To several different lakes in the Cortez, Colorado area. We would hike, and collect pretty things of nature such as pine cones, wild flowers, rocks and even drift wood. At night we would build a camp fire, and my dad would take his guitar out and we would sing by the campfire, as he heated up his can of Dr. Pepper by the fire.  We got to have hot cocoa, but my dad liked hot Dr. Pepper. My parents always showed us they loved us by all the time they spent with us. I am so blessed to have the parents I have, they are very humble people.

I have added a few Photos I took of some of my favorite spots. Its truly amazing at how colorful and beautiful everything around us is. We really need to stop, and take the time to really look at the world in all its beauty. The photos include Yellow Stone National Park where my family traveled a couple of years ago. And the water fall pictures are from a little place in Pleasant Grove Utah, called Kiwanis Park! I love to take pictures everywhere I go. It helps me remember just how truly blessed we are.

Yellow Stone National Park

A couple of years ago we traveled to Yellow Stone. I was truly amazed at just how colorful and beautiful that place is. The mystic pastures with steam coming through the ground, and the colorful hot pots made me feel like I was in a completely different world. I even got some good shots of the buffalo that roam there. We didn't get to see any bears, but the buffalo were amazing, and the kids really enjoyed them. I think it was mating season, because all the buffalo were pairing up.

Angels Surround Us .............

This is a story that I'm a little embarrassed to share, but for some reason I have been compelled to share it anyway! Sometimes we need help, and sometimes others need our help. Read this below and see what you think! When Joe and I moved to Utah from Colorado, we were making good money. I never thought we would ever need help with any of our bills or anything! We bought our first house together, Joe had a great job and I didn't have to work. This lasted for a good while, then we started making about $20,000 a year less than when we bought our house. I started working, money was getting very tight, we had an adjustable rate mortgage that just kept going up. There were some days that I just felt I couldn't take it anymore! This was one of those days, that some angels walked into our lives.
Our mortgage was a month behind, we just couldn't get caught up on our bills. We had lots of junk we didn't need, so we decided to have a garage sale, hoping that we could sell some junk, and maybe just maybe get at least some of the money we needed to get our mortgage caught up! I know this sounds silly, but some of us are just not as rich as others!
It was Saturday morning, and we set everything up for our garage sale. Joe and I are stubborn and no one knew that we were having money problems, because we hid it well, and we never told anyone we were having some money problems. Anyways, that being said, it was this day that a true miracle happened. No one was coming to our garage sale, I was getting even more discouraged, not even having enough money to buy groceries for our kids. I went into the house, and I was cleaning my kitchen. Then, all of a sudden my little daughter Hannah came into the kitchen and she said "mom someone is here for the garage sale." So I walked to the front door, and there was a woman standing there, and she said "can we come in for a while?" I thought this was a little weird, but I said okay, then about 10 people came up to my door, we did not know any of these people, not one of them, at first I thought maybe they were people from my church, but then I realized I didn't know them at all. More of them started coming into our house with boxes of food! I thought this too was a little weird. One of the ladies told me that she was driving through our neighborhood, and she just felt compelled to get some of her friends together, she said something just told her that we needed some extra help. Can you believe this, It was a weird day. This isn't even the rest of the miracle that happened. We kept asking them who they were, and where they were from, and they kept telling us that they loved us, and that we were good people. Keep in mind we had absolutely no idea who they were! Then when they were getting ready to leave she grabbed my hand and handed me what looked like maybe 10 one dollar bills folded up, she said "this is for your garage sale, good luck!" I didn't want to sit there and count it in front of her, and after they left, I opened up the folded money, and there was a $1,500 check inside the folded money and at the bottom of the check it said "We Love You" I just started crying!! Joe looked at me and he was like what's wrong, I handed him the money with the check, and then he started crying! We made about $100 at the garage sale that day, and with the $1,500 check we had the $1,600 we needed to make our mortgage that month. To this day, we have no idea who these people were, or how they knew we needed help, or even where they were from! They were all crying as they left, the spirit was so strong that day!
If this isn't a sign that there are Angels all around us, I don't know what is! Every time I think of this "Angel Miracle" I cry. There are angels all around us. Have you ever been compelled to do something? Have you followed through with what the spirit is telling you to do? When you have a feeling you should do something, don't ignore it, JUST DO IT! You never know how what one little thing YOU DO, will permanently affect others for the rest of their lives! If you have an "Angel Miracle" you would like to share please share it! Thanks for reading this!

An Inspirational Life .........

Every day, the beauty of the world around me inspires me. The people I see, the places I go,
and even the cold brisk air, as the snow falls softly in the moonlight. I wanted to start a blog so
that I can hopefully inspire some of my readers.

My name is Sherri. I am a mother of 4 beautiful children. A graphic and Web Designer. A Photographer
and Artist. I love to write poetry, and stories of things I've observed, and things I've seen and been through. And many things in my life have inspired me greatly.

I grew up in the little town of Cortez, Colorado and now I am blessed to live in Lehi, Utah. I graduated
from College last December with my degree in Graphic and Web Design. I work as a freelance Designer
and Photographer right now. I have never been very good at writing in journals. So I thought if I could type out my thoughts and feelings, it would help me express the love and thankfulness in my heart.
